My client based in Dudley is looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their SME within a Manufacturing sector. You will be required to lead and develop a team of 3 people within the Purchasing Department. My client is one of the UK’s most successful distributors of food ingredients and functional chemicals, this is an exciting and newly created role of Purchasing Manager.
The client will consider anyone with a proven and successful background in a similar role, from any industry, or a successful and driven sales manager from within the chemical industry looking for a new challenge.
Salary & package will be competitive, and commensurate with experience, benefits 23 days Annual leave, plus Bank holidays, pension, Health Care Plan and Additional Annual leave accrued through service.
This is a full-time permanent role, onsite working is required, competitive salary.
Monday to Friday 08:30am -17:00hrs Full time, Permanent.
As a Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for, developing and leading a small Purchasing Team, negotiating with existing suppliers and improve upon existing suppliers, raise order and liaise with UK and International suppliers, managing a large portfolio of products, forecasting, using bespoke CRM system, plus more.
Experience required:
- Experience as a Purchasing Manager/Sales Manager/Operations Manager
- Experience of managing a large portfolio of commodity priced products
- Strong negotiation skills dealing with supplier and analysing market trends to bring on new suppliers.
- A sound working knowledge of dealing with imports / exports.
- Developing and manging a small team.
- Knowledge of SAGE or an MRP/ERP/CRM system and Excel and Microsoft packages
