The Company:
Our client is a well-established tour operator specialising in creating tours in Great Britain and Ireland
Main duties
To support the Head of Purchasing and to lead the team in securing space and preferential rates from hotels in order to offer best deals for the clients.
The Role:
- To ensure there is a fast turn-around of enquiries and prioritising these with the team
- To support high conversion rates from enquiries in partnership with the Client Hubs
- To negotiation preferential rates with hotels
- To review internal processes and implement improvements
- To identify and make recommendation for hotels to be targeted
- To develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
- To manage the team which handles Purchasing administration, hotel group reservations, amendments and cancellations.
- To be responsible for training and supervising of the Product Booking Team, Interns & enquiry distribution to handlers
- To motivate team by organising weekly team meetings and coordinating the training sessions
- To be reviewing, monitoring, and evaluating sold dates and spaces
- To ensure that all agreements are loaded correctly into system for company wide use
- To liaising with internal clients, Yield Manager, Destination Managers and Market Hubs where required
The candidate:
- Previous experience in purchasing/procurement/contracting
- Understanding of hospitality and travel industry within Scotland would be beneficial
- Experience working in DMC would be an advantage
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Proactive, dynamic and ability to multi task
- IT literate (MS Office)
- Able to work as part of a team as well as to take initiatives
