Role Purpose
The QA Automation Engineer at Lloyds Pharmacy Online Doctor plays a central role in ensuring our patients receive a smooth and efficient experience through testing and resolution. The role will involve both reactive and proactive work and a requirement to prioritise.
This role also has significant stakeholder management responsibilities as they will be supporting and collaborating other departments and supporting and guiding junior colleagues in the team. As a dynamic digital business, Online Doctor regularly releases new services and functionality for its customers, and the QA Automation Engineer role is to ensure these are thoroughly tested.
They will be responsible for:
- Validating and establishing the functional and non-functional quality of new features
- The maintenance of automation and manual testing scripts for existing features
- Contributing to enhancing test frameworks
- Ensuring that deliverables are released to the utmost standard
- Raising quality defect via JIRA and managing retest cycles
The role is a hybrid role and will require travel to our central London office on occasion as required. We anticipate this will be for workshops and agile ceremonies up to c. 5 days per month.
Accountabilities
- Assist and share knowledge with the junior QA analysts
- Identify test issues in process and provide feedback
- Identify regression tests for current and future projects
- Creates, writes and runs test cases unsupervised
- Maintain thorough test documentation
- Participate in agile ceremonies and give feedback on improving QA processes
- Contribute effectively in retrospective meetings
- Collaborate and work closely with the development team and the wider scrum team
- Analyse and clarify requirements with the team and provide suggestions and feedback
- Perform exploratory testing and gap analysis
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer with a focus on Cypress with minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Experience of automating cross-browser, device testing
- Proficiency in JavaScript and experience with Cypress for test automation
- Strong understanding of web technologies, HTML, CSS, RestAPI and web services
- Familiarity with version control system Git
- Solid understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
- Experience with both manual and automated testing approaches
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Working knowledge of JIRA
- Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer with any automation framework with minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Willing to learn or be trained on Cypress automation framework
- Ability to articulate verbally and in writing all the steps required to replicate an issue
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to react to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
