The Opportunity
We have a great opportunity to join our team within Deli as a QA Manager (Food Safety), you will be responsible to ensure that Walkers Deli meets all necessary legislative and agreed customer standards and best practice industry guidance with regards to food safety through a robust quality management and risk assessment approach. Managing the annual schedule of validation for the site to include allergens, species, process control and claim validations ensuring a consistent approach to the validations.
- Responsible for making food safety, quality and integrity decisions to ensure that all products despatched are legal, safe and comply with relevant customer specifications.
- Ensure Health & Safety requirements throughout the function are met and effective HACCP systems are in operation.
- Attend Feasibility meetings for site and represent for food safety risk assessments.
- Own the site food safety validation schedule planning in appropriate validations throughout the year.
- Having a robust investigation and follow-up system in place in the event of inconsistencies found in validations.
- Ensure HACCP and HACCP systems are up to date for all products & are reviewed for each new product launch. Maintain the HACCP folder with up-to-date documentation/ validation/ commissioning records.
- To be involved in customer visits and audits as required.

- Degree/HND (Food Science/Technology/Science based subject)
- Extensive technical experience in a food manufacturing business
- Ideally experience of high / low risk production (Ideally chilled /meat products)
- Experience of a dealing with multiple retailers
- HACCP Level 3 as a minimum
