SALARY: £45,954 - £75,780 DOE

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh

HOURS:Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Edinburgh site.

Working within the Protection Platform you'll be part of a team working towards delivering digital journeys to our customers. The Platform's purpose is to create an industry leading experience to help our customers with their insurance needs. We strive to achieve this goal by improving our customer journey with new features and tech, simplifying our customer journeys, and improving infrastructure. The role of the Quality Engineer will be to ensure our products meet the highest quality standards through the efficient use of test automation, attention to detail, Agile delivery, and a focus on the customer.

What will you be doing with us?

• Undertake (functional and non-functional testing of software changes to deliver products that are fit for purpose and meet the quality expectations of our customers.

• Leading, Innovating & working as part of an agile team.

• Use your experience of modern software development toolsets and demonstrate the ability to stretch into DevOps, Continuous Integration and Delivery pipelines.

• Defining and Leading Quality Engineering and Assurance work ensuring the highest quality of shippable products and quality artifacts.

• Develop yourselves with industry standards, methods and tooling used across our engineering teams and introduce new concepts, approaches, and tooling.

• Express your own opinions and be pragmatic about modifying them when appropriate.

• Using toolsets such as Webdriver IO, Nodejs (SuperTest/SuperAgent), Postman/Insomnia, non-functional test tools, continuous integration tools, with a focus on industry leading and open-source tooling.

• Work "hands-on" alongside all other Engineering Disciplines

• Model the behaviours required to support the organisation's transformation to new ways of working.

• Use an automation first Test approach with a passion for driving efficiency and a focus on reducing risk.

• Logical and creative thinking skills

• Ability to work independently and to take ownership - and uses own initiative.

• Work with a range of internal and external colleagues

What you'll need:

• A solid Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering background with a good knowledge of Test Lifecycle, Test Models, Best Practices, Test Benchmarking and Test Tools. This includes a good awareness of Test Data and Environments.

• Be able to project and implement "Automation first" approach in every phase of software delivery process that aids speed to market, better quality and reduces risks.

• Experience with toolsets including Selenium, UFT, ALM, Cucumber, GitHub, Postman; with a willingness to learn and develop those skills that will be needed for success in the future.

• Work in cross-disciplinary feature teams delivering exciting customer driven solutions and high-quality software.

• Showcase excellent interpersonal and communications skills whilst expertly working across the project lifecycle to ensure software operates as intended.

• Exercise responsibility, autonomy and judgement within broad, but well-defined parameters.

• Work in a highly collaborative way to complete assigned work, showcase progress and address problems that are well defined, complex, and often non-routine.

• Be a quick learner with a growth mindset adapting to new technologies being used within Lloyds and the wider industry whilst bringing those around them on the same journey.

• Significant problem solving, fixing and analytical skills.

• Experience of leading test teams, test management, Coordination of testing across our partners and mentoring junior team members.
