About this opportunity…
Our lab, "Digital Channel Servicing", is looking for Quality Engineers to help us expand our Scottish Widows Digital and Single Customer View applications.
Here's how you'll make a difference…
As a Quality Engineer in the DCS lab, you'll be responsible for the quality assurance of our code bases. Your focus will be to contribute to and improve the BDD expertise across the team, ensuring we have a consistent and successful approach to testing and quality.
This will be achieved via test automation frameworks as well as manual testing. This covers functional, accessibility, security, compatibility and performance testing to group standards, as well as using metrics and customer study to help present a fabulous experience that helps Britain Prosper. As a member of an end-to-end feature team working in an Agile Environment you'll collaborate closely with fellow Quality and Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Architects and Product Owners to design sophisticated solutions and elegant tests to prove them, helping us deliver the best software we can.
What we need from you…
- You intimately understand microservices / NodeJS / BDD Best Practice.
- You're able to work without supervision and offer mentorship and leadership to others.
- Using automated testing tools (such as Newman, Cypress, BurpSuite, Performance Center) doesn't phase you.
- Your experience has given you an understanding of programming principles and standard methodology, e.g. for crafting re-usable, modular and sophisticated code.
- Reviewing colleague's work and providing feedback to others in a constructive and positive way is something you enjoy.
- You're excited by DevOps tooling for the execution of automation tests such as Jenkins, GIT, GitHub Enterprise, Docker.
- Working with modern Agile practices is something that motivates and excites you!
- You are excited to be part of a large transformation to Cloud journey
- You have effective communication skills and are able to clearly present ideas and provide direction to others.
Don't worry if you don't tick all these boxes; we're open minded and keen to invest in enthusiastic and positive people!
