Quality Manager
Based: Templecombe, Somerset
Are you an impactful Quality Manager with experience working within an engineering, defence or industrial environment? Are you interested in working in a high profile role where you'll act as a people manager for a team of Project Quality Assurance Managers? Would you like to be responsible for growing and developing the Quality team to drive the value and effectiveness Quality brings to the business and our customers?
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality Manager to join our Under Water Systems (UWS) business domain.
What the role has to offer:

• Opportunity to lead Quality Assurance for the Services and Industry business sector within Thales Under Water Systems
• The opportunity to lead and support a team of Project Quality Assurance Managers working on a variety of projects
• Key member of the UWS Quality team who helps achieve customer excellence and drives continuous improvement, quality delivery and governance
• Hybrid role based out of our Templecombe, Somerset site

Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Domain Quality Manager - UWS, on a day-to-day basis, you'll be involved in:

• Managing and leading a team of Project Quality Assurance Managers.
• Leading the team to drive consistent application of governance to assure quality within gates, milestones and lifecycle events including those attended by the customer (both on and off site).
• Ensuring that the team can deliver its objectives, that suitable skills and capabilities are in place, that talent is developed and that resource is appropriately allocated.
• Driving QA forward within the sector, delivering a strategy/roadmap to achieve continuous improvement.
• Implementing and delivering a risk based approach to quality assurance.
• Supporting the Industry Leadership Team with emerging quality issues and alerting the wider team to potential quality issues in a timely fashion.

About you
Ideally, you'll:

• Have proven experience as a Quality Manager in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Have proven people management experience, leading a small-mid size multi-functional team.
• Be a member of, or working towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute.
• Be experienced and adept at building and managing strong, long lasting relationships.
• Possess excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills to promote quality within the wider operations team.
• Have experience in root-cause analysis and problem solving techniques.
