Balfour Beatty VINCI is proud to be designing and building a 90KM stretch of the West Midlands section of HS2. We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Quantity Surveyorwithin the Commercial team.
This role will be based on site at Kingsbury. Northern most section of IPT Area North with 16.3km of rural high-speed line to the east of Lichfield and runs North of Curdworth for approximately 13km, through a mainly rural landscape between Sutton Coldfield and Tamworth finishing at Rookery Wood.
- Responsible for supporting SQS and MQS to deliver tasks, taking responsibility and being accountable, where relevant, for the work and roles of others whilst exercising broad autonomy and judgement within broad parameters in their area of responsibility.
- Ensure that BBV’s commercial position is protected using in depth understanding and experience of contractual, commercial, insurance and legal processes.
- Some responsibility for effective client relationship management to encourage smooth commercial progression of the contract(s)
- Demonstrates and maintains a good level of commercial and technical knowledge and works closely with the delivery team to develop techniques and solutions to meet business and customer needs.
Experienced required
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalent.
- Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB.
- Previous experience working in a civils/infrastructure project as a Quantity Surveyor.

Our work with HS2 Balfour Beatty VINCI have been awarded a 90km section of the HS2 project from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.
Overall, we will be building the following across all our sites:
- 42 viaducts totalling over 11km
- 66 overbridges
- More than 35 cuttings reaching over 30km
• 56 culverts • 66 embankments reaching over 33km
- Building four motorway crossings requiring box structures
- Six interfaces with the existing rail requiring both dive-under and overbridge structures
