High Lane Medical Centrerequires a Receptionist/Admin clerk for 4 days a week. Computer/typing skills essential. Previous experience desired.

Remuneration
From £22,308.00 pro rata per annum, dependent on experience.
Holidays
5 weeks per annum pro rata, plus all statutory bank holidays.
Pension scheme
Option to join or re-join NHS superannuation.
Contract terms
To cover holidays/sickness as required, sometimes at short notice. Book appointments for patients with Doctor and Nurse and other members of the health care team as requested.
- Monitor flow of patients into consulting and treatment rooms.
- Register new patients and temporary residents onto surgery database ensuring sufficient information is recorded and patients receive a practice leaflet detailing our services.
- Advise patients of the practice’s policies and procedures as requested with particular regard to emergency prescriptions and urgent appointments.
- Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payment and record details.
- Action prescriptions requests and amend any alteration to medication necessary as advised by Doctor.
- Enter requests for home visits on screen, including relevant information.
- Advise patients of contact numbers when requesting ambulance transportation.
- Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and other visitors to the practice, answering telephone and taking messages as appropriate.
- Retrieve and refile records as required.
- Follow practice procedures for start and end of day opening and closing, including securing the premises correctly.
- Provide cover for Saturday mornings/late evening surgery as requested.
- Provide cover, for absence during holidays and sickness, occasionally at short notice.
- Attend practice meetings as required.
- Adhere to confidentiality and Data Protection policies.
- Any other delegated duties considered appropriate to the position and any other procedures developed when in post.
- Adhere to data protection principles and the practices confidentiality policy at all times. Also, to be aware of the policies regarding smart cards and the Summary Care record.
- Adhere to Health and Safety at work Act.
