About the Role
The role of a Regional Fleet Manager in Asda Logistics Services is to support the smooth running of several transport operations throughout the South East region by working closely with the depots transport teams, local & national repair & maintenance providers, and the wider Fleet Team.
You will be responsible for:
- Establishing and monitoring a compliant & efficient service plan ensuring transport teams and service providers diligently follow the plan.
- Maintenance of accurate fleet records on Asda's Fleet Management System and that all fleet changes are updated as they happen, including updating the Central Fleet Team with any vehicle change details.
- Daily monitoring of VOR and working with transport teams and service providers to improve overall fleet uptime.
- Repair cost validation and ensuring depots raise purchase orders to suppliers in a timely manner.
- Enacting fleet change plans (new fleet in, old fleet out, realignment between the regions) with depot teams, liaising with other Regional Fleet Managers and key suppliers in relation to this.
- Investigating to conclusion any fleet performance issues when raised by either depot or supplier.
- Assessing & managing the best price repair / outcome for Asda asset, following large collision instances & insurance notification has happened.
- Supporting technology and efficiency projects to drive continuous improvement, making processes simple for our colleagues.
- Producing weekly & monthly reporting to support operational & financial performance of the region.
- Managing stakeholders and partnering with external companies within the ALS Fleet.
- Working closely with the Divisional Fleet Operations Manager to deliver projects at pace building costed proposals for pilots and then scaling up.
About You
You will need to be organised and have excellent written and verbal communication skills as the role will require you to network with colleagues from all areas of the business and externally. You will need to be flexible and adaptable to allow you to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to manage your own workload. You will have a strong background in fleet operations/management, commercial acumen, management of repair agents and legal compliance. An eye for detail is integral to be successful in this role, along with the ability to analyse and interpret data. A National or International Certificate of Competence in Road Haulage is desirable.
