Medivet Peterborough Welland Road are recruiting for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team.
The practice is led by Lead Veterinary Surgeon Jeremy who holds a keen interest in diagnostic imaging, surgery and exotics. The team currently consists of 3 Veterinary Surgeons, Deputy Head RVN, a Student Veterinary Nurse, two Patient Care Assistants and a Client Care Assistant. Our well-established clinic has a loyal client base and sees all small mammals and exotics, including rabbits, reptiles and birds. The practice comes fully equipped with ultrasound, ECG, digital x-ray, dental facilities and has been awarded Gold Standard Cat-Friendly Clinic Award from the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM). The branch is due for a refurbishment this year and is conveniently situated in a residential area just off from the A47.
Salary & benefits
Salary £30,000 per annum
CPD allowance £750 with 2-days CPD leave and in-house CPD available
RCVS, BVNA and VDS fees paid

‘Peternity’ leave
This is a full time permanent position, covering 40 hours per week. You will also be part of a weekend rota covering 1 in 4 weekends.

Role accountabilities:
• Assisting Veterinary Surgeons with their medical/surgical duties
• Monitoring of anaesthesia
• Nursing/discharge of in-patients, prioritising patient welfare and care
• Running in house lab samples and organising repeat prescriptions
• Nurse consultations- internal training provided!
• Ensuring compliance and that policies and procedures are adhered to
Your skills and experience:
• Registered with the RCVS
• Ability to keep on top of practice protocols and procedures
• Excellent organisational skills
• Strong communicator with both colleagues and clients
• Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Ability to use your judgement and make decisions
• Clinical coaching experience would be an advantage
