The Registration and Nationality Service provides a high quality, customer focused service delivering a range of functions around major life events, including:
- Registration of births
- Registration of deaths
- Registration of marriages and civil partnerships
- Attesting notice of marriage and civil partnership
- citizenship
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate will be part of the registration team based at BLackburn with Darwen Town Hall offering a professional and dedicated registration and ceremonies service. You will provide the highest standards of customer care and deal with customers professionslly and sensitively.
In the role you will be required to provide an efficient and effective registration service for births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships in accordance with statutory duties, and in line with service standards as determined by the Proper Officer.
You must have experience of working with the general public and be able to demonstrate excellent customer care skills, as well as a good level of numeric and written skills.
Knowledge of the delivery of registration services is desirable, but there are development opportunities and training for the right individual.
With a passion for excellent customer care, and a flair for creative thinking and innovation - you will combine your knowledge and experience with an ability to deliver a first-class service.
The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly to meet service demand.
In order to fulfil our statutory obligations, some weekend, bank holiday and on call working is required on a rota basis.
Due to service restrictions remote working is not possible although this may chsange in the future following proposed legislative changes.
