About The RoleTeam - ComplianceWorking Pattern - Hybrid - 2 days per week in any of the Vitality Offices. Full time hours. Top 3 skills needed for this role:

What this role is all about:This role would suit someone from either a legal or compliance background with good attention to detail.To provide guidance, aid and advice to the Vitality UK businesses (Health, Life) and to compliance colleagues on technical compliance matters and regulatory developments.Assist the Regulatory Affairs Manager (lead) in developing and reviewing compliance policies and processes. Ensuring these remain fit for purpose and executing key regulatory processes, including regulatory reporting and horizon scanning.Key Actions
  • Establishing and maintaining strong stakeholder management relationships across the business
  • Interpreting new and existing regulatory requirements and their application to the business, recommending amendments to processes and controls as appropriate
  • Preparing and delivering reports and summaries of regulatory publications and assisting in preparing responses to regulatory consultations and other such papers. This is to ensure Vitality's views are accurately represented
  • Executing key regulatory processes such as Horizon Scanning, Reporting and Applications to ensure the UK business remains compliant
  • Working with compliance colleagues to continually deliver high quality technical advice, standards and understanding to ensure business compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Developing efficient and effective solutions to regulatory issues by working with compliance colleagues and the relevant business stakeholders
  • Assist the accurate and timely submission of all regulatory reports
  • Identifying and effectively communicating regulatory risk requirements and considerations regarding business propositions, advising stakeholders to ensure all propositions are compliant
  • Assist the provision of guidance and training to the business and peers on significant regulatory matters
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports for the Risk Committee and Board on compliance activities, risks and issues
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relations with the FCA and PRA ensuring meetings run smoothly, minutes taken are accurate and timely and correspondence is recorded
  • Maintaining good relations with Discovery's Risk and Compliance teams addressing queries skilfully, assisting with attestations and completing Discovery's Risk Committee and other reports where necessary
  • Sharing insight, expertise and skills with the Risk teams, collaborating with them to assist risk mitigation and management objectives
Essential Skills needed to fulfil this role:
  • Degree educated or Compliance Qualifications
  • Sound knowledge of UK financial services' regulatory requirements particularly in relation to conduct risk, and a good knowledge of prudential risks
  • Sound knowledge of other regulations and trade bodies, including Money Laundering Regulations, Data Protection Regulations, etc.
  • Excellent relationship management skills to Board level (Ambassadorial Approach)
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Has an evidential strategic and tactical approach
  • Strong influencing and persuasive skills to an Executive level
  • Competent and analytically minded
