Repairs Team Leader - Special Projects

Location: Walsall, West Midlands

Salary: £40,974 - £42,963 per annum (Plus £1000 car allowance and excellent benefits)

We have an exciting opportunity for a new Team Leader position to join our Home Maintenance Services team. This role will sit within our Specialist Repairs and Projects Team, managing a team of trades colleagues in the delivery of Housing Disrepair works. This role will be integral to ensuring we meet our SLAs for our customers, whilst also dealing with compliance and liaising with our in-house legal team around Housing Condition Claims. In addition, you will be managing the delivery of Damp and Mould Remediation works.

You’ll need to thrive working in a fast paced, busy environment and be able to manage and prioritise a varied workload, from managing colleagues, to responding to complaints, ensuring works comply with regulatory and legal requirements, solving materials queries and much, much more…

Main job responsibilities:

  • Ultimately, this role is about leading, managing and motivating a team of trade colleagues, to work productively, efficiently and to an excellent standard, ensuring a 'right first-time approach’.

  • You’ll be accountable for the whole teams’ and for individual team member’s performance, making sure that KPIs and SLAs are met, as well as managing contractor performance.

  • It’s not just about the 'what’ though, you’ll also be accountable for ensuring your team are delivering excellent customer service, and living our values, at all times.

  • You’ll be required to manage any employee relations issues within your team, including sickness, performance management, and conduct issues.

  • You’ll be expected to survey a wide range of repairs and diagnose, fault find and order the repair appropriately.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • BTEC/ HNC in Building Studies, or equivalent experience within the construction industry.

  • Experience of leading and managing a team of multi-skilled trade colleagues, including effectively managing performance, with the ability to drive performance through people.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including a good level of Maths and English.

  • A sound understanding of construction health and safety, asbestos, and fire risk regulations.

  • A full driving license and the ability to travel across the whg geography.
