They are seeking a Research Associate to join a dynamic R&D group performing various immune-based assays. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a talented and motivated scientist to contribute to a growing pipeline of assets in an exciting and highly dynamic environment focused on developing cutting-edge cellular therapies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct molecular and cell-based assays to enhance the understanding of CAR-Tregs and their impact in preclinical in vitro and in vivo models.
  • Assist in the development of novel assays and methods to investigate CAR-Treg cell function.
  • Aid in the development and testing of innovative and relevant immune regulatory assays/models.
  • Collaborate with and support scientists within the translational medicine group.
  • Provide support in day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure the smooth running of lab teams.
  • Author experiment write-ups and reports.
  • Create and maintain compliant process documentation.
  • Work with external service providers as required.
  • Supervise staff as necessary.
  • Compile batch documentation and ensure accuracy.
  • Participate in the manufacture of research-grade viral vector products.

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reports to the Group Leader on Research & Development.
  • Works closely with other members of the Scientific Research & Development team, CMC, and Process Development team.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • BSc/MSc in Biology/Immunology or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with a range of immunological cell-based techniques and tests.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, ideally human immune cell culture.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to present results clearly and logically, working cooperatively as part of a team and independently.
  • Ability to efficiently identify and implement solutions to improve processes.
  • Good attention to detail and record keeping.
  • Excellent time and project management skills with the ability to prioritize activities.
  • Proven commitment to high-quality work and maintenance of high standards.
  • Solid understanding of cell biology and immunology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Contribution to a culture that embraces scientific excellence, integrity, urgency, patient centricity, and continuous improvement.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with a range of immunological cell-based techniques and tests, e.g., Flow Cytometry, ELISA.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, ideally human immune cell culture.
  • Solid understanding of T cell biology and immunology.
  • Ability to perform molecular and cell-based assays to improve understanding of engineered Tregs and their impact in preclinical in vitro and in vivo models.
  • Assist in the development of novel assays and methods to investigate engineered Treg cell function.
  • Aid in the development and testing of novel and relevant immune regulatory assays/models.
