This post will involve working on the BCAN-RAY (Breast CANcer - Risk Assessment for Younger women) project. The project involves developing methods to assess cancer risk in younger women, to allow higher risk women access to earlier screening and preventive strategies.. The present post will focus on contributing to a mixed methods process analysis of the process of recruitment and risk assessment.
The successful applicant will be based in the Manchester Centre of Health Psychology http://research.bmh.manchester.ac.uk/healthpsychology and be part of a wider multidisciplinary team, working particularly with Prof David French (health psychologist) and Dr Sacha Howell (medical oncologist). It will also involve working closely with a supportive group of researchers examining issues surrounding development and evaluation of risk estimation for breast cancer. They will be affiliated with Manchester NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (Prevention and Early Detection theme).
