Research Associate in Social Psychology
£27,363 - £30,693 per annum (pro rata)
Full time/Fixed Term - 9 months
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to support NTU strategic investment in 'Social Cure' research being undertaken by the Groups, Identities & Health Research Group in the Department of Psychology. This is an ideal opportunity for an early career researcher to join an ambitious team, make a valuable contribution to addressing important scientific and policy issues, and develop high-level skills in conducting applied social psychological research.
The role will involve supporting the development of research outputs in key areas of focus for the research group (including but not limited to group-based experiences of loneliness, place-based health and inequalities, life transitions and identity change) as well as supporting the design and trialling of new scalable digital and/or in-person interventions for vulnerable individuals and groups.
The successful candidate will carry out a range of duties including systematic literature reviews, advanced quantitative analysis of survey datasets, assisting in intervention design and evaluation (in collaboration with external stakeholders), and writing and disseminating research and policy outputs.
Applications are welcomed from individuals who hold a PhD in Psychology and have experience conducting advanced quantitative analysis. Experience of conducting research using the Social Identity Approach and/or development of health interventions for vulnerable populations would be a benefit.
For more details, please take a look at the role profile. We'll still consider applications even if you don't meet every single one of the requirements, so don't be put off if you don't match them perfectly.
Interview date: W/C 11th March 2024
