About us
Behavioural Science and Health (BSH) is dedicated to research on how human behaviour impacts health and health outcomes. Specifically, the position will be within the Social Biobehavioural Research Group led by Professor Daisy Fancourt, which focuses on the effect of social factors on health. This includes social deficits (e.g. loneliness, isolation and COVID-19 lockdowns) and social assets (e.g. social connections, cultural and community engagement, nature engagement and social prescribing).
About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a PhD (or close to completion) to contribute to the departments growing work in social prescribing research.

In particular, the post-holder will work across two main projects (i) leading the day-to-day management of a new programme of work, which will develop and trial social prescribing pathways in schools to address loneliness, and (ii) supporting work on the Wellbeing While Waiting (increasing social prescribing youth referrals) project - a three-year study focused on embedding social prescribing into child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) in the UK and evaluating its impact and implementation. At times, the successful candidate may also be asked to assist with other projects.
In addition to having a PhD (or being close to completion), candidates will need trial management experience, excellent organisational skills, and knowledge of the social determinants of health.
