Restructuring Specialist
What will you be doing?
The Restructuring Team are responsible for leading and/or supporting strategy, renegotiation, and restructuring deal execution on Stage 2 and Stage 3, and Legacy exposures across Investec. They bring expertise in solvent and insolvent situations where Borrowers are underperforming and negotiated amendments, additional credit support, or other solutions are required, and lead the wind down of Legacy books such as Marine, Australia and Global Resources. The Recoveries Team have a similar role for property-related exposures, and other fixed asset exposures across the Bank.
- Lead client facing restructuring transactions to drive best in class outcomes on relevant Stage 2, Stage 3, and Legacy exposures in IBP and subsidiaries.
- Manage Legacy exposures – ensuring appropriate risk management, accurate reporting, and strong stakeholder management, including Risk, Finance, Auditors, and Origination Teams as appropriate, inter alia.
- Conduct or participate in regular reviews of each originating desk's portfolio for material risk changes.
- Assist IBP and subsidiaries' (non-property) deal teams with any distressed positions, restructurings, or portfolio disposals where required.
- Assist desks with managing and forecasting impairments working closely with desk and the credit function.
- Represent R&R in the Bank's Watchlist process and IDC, in support of IBP's distressed asset management policy.
- Contribute to the management and evolution of the Bank's distressed asset management procedures, driving best practice within the various origination teams and risk.
- Engage with the Banks auditors and Regulators as required on the Bank's distressed asset management procedures and individual exposures.
- Support the development, engagement, and effectiveness of the R&R team, sharing best practice, fostering a high-performance culture, and contributing to a positive team environment.
What are we looking for?
- Expert knowledge of Restructuring and Insolvency processes.
- Extensive experience of multi-party restructuring negotiations across a wide range of jurisdictions and asset classes.
- Knowledge of European and UK lending market.
- Knowledge of other market participants' approaches to restructuring.
- Advanced negotiation skills.
- Advanced credit analysis and deal transactional skills and experience.
Any other attributes that would be helpful, but not essential for the role.
- Strong network of relationships with individuals and institutions across the Restructuring and Insolvency market.
