At FARA we are looking for a confident and energetic Marketing Manager to support our network of 40 shops across London as we embark on a new organisational strategy.
It is an exciting time for the charity, which helps disadvantaged children, young people and their families in Romania, as we seek to drive greater level of support through our retail touchpoint and reimagine the FARA brand and communication of our purpose in our shops. You will be joining a growing Marketing function with ambitious plans to transform our communications.
The Role:
The Marketing Manager - Retail and Brand will play a pivotal role in enabling FARA’s retail operation in London to thrive. They will develop awareness and understanding of the FARA brand, our charitable purpose and commitment to sustainability, at the same time delivering a real focus on customer experience and supporter communications. The role will include but not be limited to:
- Leading on developing and delivering optimal marketing support for FARA’s shops in collaboration with the retail team
- Leading on the development and hands-on delivery of specific campaigns/promotions and a calendar of marketing activity to support the retail operation in achieving its targets
- Developing plans to maximise the potential of the retail touch point as the gateway to the FARA brand
- Developing and implementing plans to ensure we use the retail experience (shopping and donating goods) to build ongoing support for FARA through supporter acquisition and engagement of the retail cohort Reviewing and revitalising the design and messaging of all in-store marketing materials and signage to ensure coherence and consistency
- Supporting on the implementation of plans to ‘reimagine’ the in-store shopping experience / shop environment with a brand-appropriate execution as part of the EPOS system
- Leading on a review of our key brand messages in store, and on the production and ongoing adjustment of a comprehensive set of brand guidelines for use in all physical and digital touchpoints
- Working closely with the Social Media and Content Manager to develop website and digital content
- Establishing close working relationships with retail teams to understand localized need and develop cost-effective marketing materials, tools, templates and tactics that enable empowered activity
- Supporting on the development of a supporter communications programme with a focus on building loyalty and engagement among our retail audience cohort
The Candidate:
- Strong understanding and experience of Retail Marketing – with a focus on the in-store customer experience and brand execution in retail spaces
- Target driven and highly collaborative approach
- Extensive experience of planning and delivering marketing campaigns and promotions to support retail operations, with accountability for maximizing ROI
- Good understanding and experience of brand development and management - within a retail context and beyond
- Marketing qualification or equivalent experience
- Passion for retail and fashion, with an understanding of the joys and challenges of the pre-loved retail environment.
- Charity retail experience is not essential but an understanding of this or desire to grow this is key
- Good knowledge of social media and other digital marketing channels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Track record of success in liaising with agencies and freelancers to develop brand and campaign messaging and creative, from initial brief to delivery
- Good communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across different organizational touchpoints
- Understanding of local contexts within a retail environment and ability to adapt approach to localized needs
- Strong project management skills.
