Korea Foods Company is a family-owned importer, distributor, and retailer of Korean and other Asian food. We are the largest importer of Korean food in Europe, distribute to 1200 wholesale customers, including the major multiples, and operate 17 retail shops in the UK.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the main point of contact and manage building projects across the estate from inception to completion.
- To act on behalf of the company, who acts as the principal designer and contractor, where the company takes on dutyholder roles and associated responsibilities, following all CDM Regulations 2015.
- Assess required works, inspect buildings, and gather information to present to internal stakeholders.
- Work with the in-house designer to prepare plans and obtain licence to alter agreements.
- Prepare schedules of works and drawings for pricing for contractors.
- Discuss with relevant authorities, and if necessary, submit applications for statutory consents, such as planning and building regulations approval.
- Obtain competitive tenders for the works. Arrange pre-start meetings with contractors and sub-contractors.
- Supply necessary construction information to contractors and landlords, and arrange commencement of the works.
- Integrate the works into a programme prepared by the contractors for all external and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor progress and quality of works with regular site visits and conduct progress meetings.
- Work with Senior Management and Finance in scoping and planning the Capex and FF&E budgets.
- Delivering projects on time and to a budget.
- Manage and co-ordinate all external contractors and sub-contractors, ensuring conformance with landlord, building, and other required regulations. This will also require ensuring that all contractors and sub-contractors have the requisite skills to ensure that construction and build projects are undertaken safely.
- Compile a list of preferred suppliers and vendors, with multi-tiered options for costs and style.
Required Key Skills
- Must be a strong communicator, able to lead projects with conviction.
- Must be a solution provider.
- Organisational skills must be exemplary, to co-ordinate the large number of stakeholders involved.
- Must be able to work with senior management involvement.
- An understanding of UK Buildings Regulations would be highly advantageous.
- Be MS Office literate (including Excel and PowerPoint)
- Degree in Architecture beneficial
