What the Job Does:

The Retail People Partner position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in retail, across our UK Market. The position will serve as first point of contact, a trusted partner and problem solver to the retail leadership on all people-related issues. The RPP will act as an employee champion and change agent, delivering upon our People Plan to the retail population.

As our People Partner you will contribute to helping shape, guide and enable our retail population to achieve their best results. You will work closely with our Regional and Field Sales Managers and be responsible for regional succession planning, supporting performance management and driving change through our People Strategy. You will also partner with our Regional Training Managers to support the full development of our retail management & leadership teams as well as trusted support on all Employee Relations matters.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to your teams, always providing advice, guidance, and independent challenge on all things people
  • Develop a detailed understanding of your business area’s key deliverables and challenges, collaborating with the wider People Team to design relevant people initiatives to drive a lasting success
  • Coach and develop the management teams to help them become the best and most inspiring leaders
  • Lead on all annual and bi-annual people processes (performance reviews, pay review, engagement surveys, succession and development planning) continually reviewing the way we do things to make sure we are bringing the magic to our teams
  • Partner with Field Sales Managers to ensure we have the right structures, skill sets, and capabilities in each of the markets to support our ambitious growth plans.
  • Act as a guardian and a role model for our brand values, ensuring that you embrace the challenge, disrupt, and innovate, win together, and share the magic in all that you do.
  • Working in collaboration with Retail Director and People Director lead on Leadership development of Regional and Field Sales Managers RSM/FSMs), Business Managers (BMs) and Assistant Business Managers (ABMs), alongside that of the Field Training Mangers
  • Lead on Talent Mapping, succession planning and pipelining for FSM, BM & ABM roles – and high talent artist roles
  • Be a field-support for payroll queries and concerns
  • Support the performance management process of FSMs , BMs and ABMs
  • Manage all complex employee relations cases and field support to develop FSM, BM and ABM population to understand how to manage ER more independently
  • Be the expert on the market employment law and guide the business through compliance and best practice
  • Oversee the management of all Long-term Sickness (LTS) / Occupational Health Referral cases
  • Partner with Head of H&S, Facilities and Environment and Retail Operations to ensure up to date health and safety policies and processes are maintained at store level
  • Support the identification and preparation of personal development plans (PDPs) for key and high potential employees within markets
  • Actively identify gaps or development areas in People policies, processes and ways of working, proposing and implementing changes necessary to cover risks and improve efficiencies
  • Offer advice on HR trends, developments and technological advances – ensuring CT stays at the forefront and ahead of People practices
  • Be responsible for the smooth, timely execution of the People strategy and Road Map across our stores and counters
  • Build excellent relationships with your stakeholders ensuring the People Team is viewed as a key partner to help support the delivery of our commercial objectives
  • Be a key point of contact (retail expert) in a number of strategic business work-streams
  • Work in close partnership with the Talent Acquisition Team to ensure Retail Leadership and Management recruitment is delivered within budget, in a timely and manner attracting the best talent available
  • Working in partnership with the Reward Team support the business on all compensation and benefit matters, particularly salary, year-end review and bonus allocation and comms and launch of new benefits in markets
  • Measure engagement levels across the EMEA retail business to ensure the wider business has a strong understanding of current and future trends and actions proposed to address/drive these
  • Be a cultural ambassador across the business. Have a positive impact on our people and our culture at all times
  • Scope, define and execute ongoing projects that improve overall business efficiency and make Charlotte Tilbury a great place to work
  • Lead and develop own team

Reporting Relationships:

  • Reporting to the People Director, Retail, UK & EMEA

Requirements

  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
  • Pro-active, innovative, collaborative
  • EMEA employment law knowledge and practical experience is essential
  • Ability to speak German and/or French would be an advantage
  • Able to influence and communicate your own point of view
  • Methodical, logical, organised and calm under pressure
  • Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Experience at HRBP level within a retail business
  • CIPD Qualified
  • A demonstrable interest in working within beauty is preferred
  • Able to travel to markets when required
