Retail Welcome Lead

We are looking for a Retail Welcome Lead to join our Learning and Development team at Harrods on a 9-month fixed-term basis. This role will be crucial in piloting the expansion of our retail own-bought induction and bring to life what it is like to work on the shopfloor at Harrods.

This newly created role is a great development opportunity to partner with another business area, build facilitation and presentation skills, and drive this key strategy for Retail.

About the Role

This role will support to equip new starters with the confidence, knowledge and human skills to supercharge their expertise in sales and service, and deliver the Harrods standard that we strive for. The objective of the Retail Welcome experience is to develop new starters’ customer-centric skills through a series of three Retail ‘Masterclasses’ and create a space for new starters to immerse themselves in the magic of Harrods. This role will help provide guidance to support our new starters through induction, their full probation period and beyond.

In this role you will:

  • Become upskilled with Harrods ‘Learn your Way’ design and facilitation skills.
  • Using your retail expertise, shape the final design and content of the three Masterclasses.
  • Own the pilot delivery end-to-end, including: stakeholder management, cascading the new initiative across the retail division, facilitiing the masterclasses weekly, and collecting data against set measures of success.
  • Manage all administration week-on-week of new starters attending.
  • Complete on the job observations and follow up with new starters throughout their probation.

About You

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with the ability to own their responsibilities. You are a people person, and enjoy connecting with colleagues and building relationships. You are a confident communicator who will be comfortable facilitating in front of large audiences. You are reliable, and able to work both as a team and independently. You are not afraid to delve in and analyse data.

You will also:

  • Have a passion for helping people learn, grow and develop.
  • Have experience in a luxury retail/shopfloor environment.
  • Have experience in planning and delivering projects, end-to-end.
  • Have a natural flair for building relationships and stakeholder management.
  • Be competent in Microsoft Office – using Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook.
