Role Overview
AWAL is seeking a Manager/Senior Manager to join our dynamic Artist Support team. As a key addition to the team, you will take the lead in resolving important queries and managing critical processes across our roster. Reporting to the VP of AWAL Core & Artist Support, you will specifically cover areas such as rights management & accounting; liaising with artists, artists' teams, and internal stakeholders from across AWAL & Sony to solve problems.

This means our partners can have total confidence in our catalog as they rely on us to ensure the lawful and ethical use of musical content, protect the rights of creators and copyright owners, and maintain a secure and reliable environment for all stakeholders involved in the industry.
You will be navigating the needs of our partners, internal stakeholders, and artists to continue our high standards of support while maintaining the integrity of our catalog. The role will involve supporting priority accounts to resolve rights issues, analyzing label activity, off-boarding clients where necessary, and developing processes to help us stay up to speed with the evolving challenges in the space.
What you will do
- Develop expertise in handling some of our more complex areas of Artist Support, including (but not limited to) rights management and artist accounting/payments.
- Working directly with artists & labels to understand their business and on occasion offboard their catalog.
- Manage any rights issues that arise, coordinating with Ops and Business Affairs teams to resolve conflicts efficiently
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine the processes used to deliver on our Trust & Safety Initiatives
- Leverage internal analytics to inform process improvements and make decisions on specific labels
- Stay up to date with industry news and emerging technologies that affect our artists
- Train and educate other team members on best practices
Who you are:

- You understand how artist royalties are calculated, particularly for streaming revenue
- You are comfortable with data and have experience using data to make decisions

- You enjoy working on diverse teams
- You are passionate about empowering independent artists
- Proven music industry experience copyright law and royalty accounting preferred
- Business proficiency with multiple languages (in addition to English) is a plus
