Our client, a leading accountancy practice in the South West, is actively seeking a motivated and adaptable Risk and Compliance Manager to join their expanding team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Within the Risk and Compliance team, your role will be pivotal in fostering the company's growth by overseeing comprehensive compliance management and risk mitigation. The Risk and Compliance Manager role balances daily tasks with firm-wide projects, creating a dynamic position that brings new and engaging challenges every day. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant who excels in collaborating with clients to ensure regulatory compliance and manage risks, seeking a fresh challenge in a dynamic role with diverse career prospects.
The responsibilities:
- Collaborate across teams to offer expert advice and implement practical measures to mitigate risk.
- Oversee compliance and regulatory audits, ensuring adherence to procedures and necessary follow-ups under the ICAEW Practice Assurance scheme.
- Report into quality management systems like ISQM1 and coordinate significant roles in external regulatory reviews.
- Ensure compliance in crucial areas such as Anti Money Laundering and Data Protection.
- Aid the responsible business team in developing supply chain procedures and supporting Supplier initiatives.
- Engage in various ad hoc projects throughout the year, offering abundant opportunities to contribute to firm-wide initiatives.
The candidate:
- ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience in a professional services firm or internal audit/audit function.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across stakeholders.
- The ability to thrive under pressure, respond calmly to issues, and exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Proactive work approach with strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
