An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Lawyer to take on a Risk Manager role within a high-achieving boutique law firm in London. As a Risk Manager, you will be responsible for guiding the firm through the regulatory risks it faces in day-to-day business. This is a challenging role that involves assessing the existing function and driving improvement and change across the business. Job Responsibilities:
- Reporting on complex AML matters that may require further review.
- Conducting source of funds checks on amounts that exceed legislative requirements.
- Handling general onboarding enquiries.
- Maintaining awareness of sanctions and keeping a log of them.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Ensuring compliance with the SRA guidelines and maintaining the firm's ability to excel in external audits.
- Managing complaints and handling claims.
- PII claims management, and approval for complaints.
- Renewing PII.
- Keeping Partners informed of potential risks facing the firm.
- Conducting the annual AML firm-wide risk assessment.
- Keeping records of sanctions.
- Providing training to staff on regulatory risks.
- Implementing policies, controls, and procedures covering risk management practices, internal controls, and CDD.
- Scanning the horizon for potential risks and providing updates and awareness.
Experience required:
- This position requires a qualified Lawyer.
- Strong understanding of risk management across a law firm
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of professional indemnity insurance, and good awareness and understanding of other classes of insurance.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct Rules, and other SRA Standards and Regulations such as the Indemnity Insurance rules and the Legal Ombudsman scheme.
- Awareness and understanding of Money Laundering legislation, Data Protection legislation, Criminal Finances Act 2017, Bribery Act 2010, Financial Services and Markets Act.
