Are you an experienced Rural Surveyor looking for your next challenge? If so, Bidwells is looking for a Rural Surveyor to join our market leading Rural Surveying team in Cambridge!
We’re looking to speak with any Qualified Rural Surveyors at Surveyor through to Associate level. The successful applicant will be a productive and profitable fee earner, specialising in areas of estate management, diversification and professional work.
The Rural team at Bidwells manages, consults, and offers strategic advice on over a million acres of farmland and estates across the country, working with some of the UK's top-performing rural businesses and landowners including Cambridge and Oxford colleges, pension funds, charities and companies.
Our Cambridge office is home to our biggest rural team across our 11 sites and is one of the largest rural teams in the UK. Within the 60 strong team there is a vast array of knowledge coming from graduates through to equity partners. We pride ourselves on the progression and development we offer our people and within Rural, this is no exception. The team specialise in estate and farm strategy and management, professional work, diversification, rural agency, and natural capital and biodiversity net gain.
What You’ll Do:
You will get the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects for some fascinating clients. You'll be involved with a wide variety of work including, but not limited to:
- Working on Estate and Farm strategy and management e.g. whole estate strategy, preparation of tenancy agreements and budgets; inspections, analysing and processing data.
- Professional work instructions could include diversification projects, rural planning, valuations, strategy reviews, grant sourcing, business plans, compulsory purchase/utility schemes, landlord and tenant matters, farm and rural estate agency, farmland investment and development schemes.
- Developing and maintaining regular contact with clients to develop and sustain long term relationships.
- Targeting new prospects and existing clients for new professional instructions.
- Maintaining an up to date understanding of other teams and departments to support and identify new business opportunities.
- Responsible for the profitability and management of instructions undertaken, particularly concentrating on time and efficiency of delivery of work
About you:
- MRICS
- Experience in estate management and professional work
- Numerate and competent in use of spreadsheets and other applications
- Excellent business writing skills
- Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise and deal with competing deadlines and workload
- Friendly and professional approach, good networking abilities
- Demonstrable team player
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong people skills with an ability to communicate via different mediums at all levels
