Our client, a global leader in their sector, are partnering with us to recruit for a Sales & Marketing Manager to join them on a permanent basis in Cardiff.
In this key role, you will deliver the company's sales, marketing, and business development strategy, ensuring the development of new business and the strategic key account management and growth of existing customers on a global scale, as well as the management and development of the global distribution network.
The role will involve significant global travel to Europe, Asia/Pacific, Africa, and the Americas, where you will be an ambassador for the brand at conventions and industry expos, as well as managing the relationship with the global distribution network.
We are seeking a candidate with technical experience in the aviation, petroleum, or marine transport sectors, however candidates from a technical industry will be considered.
Candidates would ideally be based within reasonable distance to Cardiff; however, the role will be a mixture of home based working, office working, and significant travel nationally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the sales, and marketing strategy.
- Manage the Marketing Executive, supporting the delivery of marketing campaigns.
- Implement sales and marketing strategies for all products and services, across all global regions.
- Develop and implement new competitive customer offers and propositions.
- Liaise with distributor sales teams to implement sales plans and grow sales.
- Manage and conduct pre-sales, after-sales support, and technical assistance to customers, distributors, and prospects.
- Provide product training and technical support to distributors, key accounts, and prospects in conjunction with scientific technical staff.
- Identify and set up new distributor arrangements to meet strategic objectives.
- Achieve/exceed targets, determining appropriate pricing strategies and marketing expenditure budget.
- Build and maintain strong long-lasting customer relationships with key accounts.
- Identify, develop, and manage opportunities - provide sales forecasts with good insight, accuracy, and judgement.
- Promote the company's products and services at global networking, trade, and technical events.
- Research, collect and maintain market intelligence, customer insight and industry knowledge data.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- Broad understanding of a technical industry, preferably in the aviation, petroleum, marine, or biotechnology sectors.
- Extensive experience of B2B sales and marketing activity.
- Ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels.
- Excellent time management and presentation skills.
- Highly developed analytical and negotiation skills.
- Awareness and sensitivities to varied cultures.
- Excellent IT skills (CRM systems, Office applications).
- Able to travel globally, fully qualified to drive.
Qualifications:
- BA Sales and Marketing or Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification would be highly desirable.
