Job description
The post holder will be the central coordinator of information to allow the QA service booking to take place. Ensuring accurate and complete information, contacting others as necessary to gather this information and sharing clear details of bookings with customers and those involved. Maintain the Groups survey visits diary with all necessary information. Add new x-ray equipment to the group equipment inventory/database and to the new equipment register.
Archive old equipment on the inventory and associated QA workbooks. Arrange routine and non-routine (new installations, new components) equipment QA surveys for the team through communication with our customers (The Christie hospital and external) and allocate trained staff to the job in the group outlook diary. Deal with short notice requests for QA surveys or reallocate staff due to sickness absence, or other reasons on a daily basis. This involves deciding the correct testing requirements following a work instruction or seeking clarification by a Duty Manager.
Call ahead to check visits are going ahead to avoid wasted journeys. Add visit details and report numbers to the inventory. Arrange collation of paperwork, payment order numbers and associated charges/invoicing for critical exams. Keep track of lone workers in the field and ensure handover to the Duty Manager before leaving work at the end of a day if some are not back.
Handover to whoever will cover this Scheduler role during annual leave etc. Coordinate with others who may be booking within the group so resources are not double booked e.g. currently the mammography lead technologist books the mammography work
