Vida Education are seeking a bright and motivated School Business Manager to join a fantastic Preston based secondary school. The opportunity has come up to cover a long term sickness with the potential to become permanent.

Joining a small but friendly and professional department, as the School Business Manager, you'll be a key member of the leadership team, overseeing all aspects of financial management. You'll handle everything from budgeting and forecasting to resource allocation and procurement, ensuring the school operates efficiently and effectively.

Due to the nature of the role and the responsibilities involved, you will need to have previous experience in a similar role and have experience on systems such as Finance 6.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the school budget and ensuring financial compliance.
• Managing income and expenditure, optimising resources for maximum impact.
• Preparing financial reports and providing strategic financial advice to the Headteacher and Governing Board.
• Implementing robust financial systems and controls.
• Managing staff payroll and benefits.
• Overseeing the school's premises and facilities management.

What You'll Bring:

• Previous experience in School Business management or a similar finance role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A clear understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.
• Experience with budget planning and cost control.
• Passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact.
