We are seeking a School Business Manager to join our leadership team. This role is integral to the management of the school's business operations, including finance, human resources, and premises management. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and will lead and represent support staff.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Oversee finance and business operations, ensuring effective management of school funds and financial planning.
- Manage human resources, including staff recruitment, retention, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and contribute to the safety and security of the school environment.
- Complete the workforce census and maintain accurate records.
- Handle premises management, ensuring the school environment is well-maintained and safe.
- Oversee contract management and liaise with external contractors and service providers.
- Manage school assets and resources efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, updating them as necessary.
- Act as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Lead and represent support staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work culture.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the school.
- Provide direct line management to support staff, ensuring clear communication and effective team performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business management, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
- Knowledge of human resources management and employment law.
- Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and premises management.
- Competence in policy and procedure compliance.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to represent the school in a professional manner.
