Are you a supportive and empathetic person seeking to help students? Do you have experience in first aid?
The successful candidate will lead on whole school First Aid provision for two days a week, ensuring that all students have a Medical Care Plan which has been reviewed, signed, and uploaded to SIMs. They will also coordinate support from other First Aiders, ensure that there is a rota in place for the first aid provision in school, and organize the school immunization program with the school nursing team.
The role will require the following skills and experience:
- Experience of working with young people in a school or similar environment.
- The ability to show empathy and understanding.
- Good organizational skills.
- Reliability, tact, and diplomacy.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for auditing medicines to ensure they are in date and that parents have provided the required medication, auditing medical boxes around the school and ensuring that all signs are kept up to date, communicating with parents as appropriate, and holding and updating the central medical information on staff allergies.
In addition, the successful candidate will work if required as part of the duty team to supervise allocated snack breaks, lunch breaks, and On Patrol services. They will also coordinate Outdoor Education Trips including communication with parents, staff rota to accompany the trips, all trip paperwork with the students, etc.
The successful candidate will also be prepared to supervise classes requiring cover due to staff illness/absence and organize Homework Club after school (Thursday and Friday), including recruitment/rota for sixth form volunteers and a register of students.
