We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Cover Manager for a Secondary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the supply needs of the school and will also undertake cover supervision duties. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent after 12 weeks, and an immediate start is available for the right candidate (DBS and referencing pending).
Day-to-day of the role:- Coordinate and manage the daily supply cover for teaching staff absences.
- Supervise classes during the absence of teachers, ensuring that pre-set work is completed and managing classroom behaviour.
- Maintain accurate records of cover lessons and supply teacher feedback.
- Liaise with supply agencies to arrange cover, negotiating rates and managing the supply budget.
- Develop and implement efficient systems for cover management within the school.
- Communicate effectively with staff, supply teachers, and students to ensure smooth operation of the cover system.
- Provide administrative support to the school's senior leadership team as required.
- Proven experience in cover supervision within a Secondary School environment.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Experience in managing budgets and negotiating with external agencies.
- A current DBS on the update service is essential, although this can be applied for via REED if necessary.
