Are you an experienced and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with autism and other special educational needs? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team at a wonderful primary school in Newcastle under Lyme!
This role is full time, Monday – Friday and would be supporting a child with Autism on a 1-1 basis.
SEN TA - Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to a student with autism and special educational needs, including assisting with academic tasks, communication, and social interaction.
- Implement personalized learning plans and behaviour management strategies in collaboration with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where the student feels valued, safe, and empowered to succeed.
- Use your experience and expertise to adapt teaching and support strategies to meet the individual needs of the student.
SEN TA - Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, with specific experience supporting students with autism and additional SEN needs.
- Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and other special educational needs, including knowledge of relevant teaching and support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals.
