Reed Finance has a fantastic opportunity to join a leading infrastructure & investment management firm in a Senior Accountant role looking after a number of infrastructure projects.
This role will take responsibility for the financial performance and control of a portfolio of corporate entities and will be managing a full range of projects activities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced qualified accountant who is looking for a wider remit of responsibilities and wants to work for a business with a vibrant, supportive but progressive culture which may lead to opportunity to get involved in other aspects of the business.
This an initial 15 month contract role and the salary for this role will be between £70,000-£75,000 per annum plus benefits noted below.
Day to Day Responsibilities of this Senior Accountant role:
- Take ownership of a portfolio of infrastructure projects held within a regulated fund
- Management of the day-to-day financial performance of project entities, ensuring efficient operation and compliance with contractual cash-flow and operational obligations
- Establishing and managing relationships with key project stakeholders
- Timely and accurate delivery of project reporting requirements including internal quarterly management reporting, annual statutory reporting (mainly UK GAAP/IFRS) and senior lender reporting.
- Assist the group treasury team to comply with the senior lender reporting requirements.
- Assist a shared pool of processing and invoicing staff.
- Ensuring project entities remain up to date and compliant with relevant legislation including latest accounting standards, VAT, Hedge accounting etc.
- Proactive attitude to identify areas for improvement in the projects
Required Skills and Qualifications for this Senior Accountant role:
- Qualified accountant with 4-5 years post qualified experience (ACA, ACCA or CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience within statutory accounts preparation and commercial accounting
- Experience with PFI, SPV, PPP or OFTO projects would be highly advantageous
- Experience working with financial models and providing financial analysis
- Experience of UK GAAP with knowledge of latest accounting developments. Exposure to IFRS will be advantageous.
- Excellent time management and organisation skills will be required whilst taking ownership
- Strong communications skills and ability to build relationships with project stakeholders
- Must be able to work well with senior staff and non-finance personnel
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills and computer literate with sound excel skills.
- Must be proactive and have enthusiasm to add value
