The role of the Senior Accountant
- Being the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients
- Responsibility for the overall commercial profitability of your portfolio of clients
- Leveraging the latest technologies to advance and improve service delivery
- Reviewing financial record keeping for clients using Xero
- Raising and resolving record keeping queries with clients
- Preparing quarterly financial reviews
- Preparing management accounts
- Reviewing quarterly VAT returns
- Preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations for micro entities and small companies, for review and filing with Companies House and HMRC respectively
- Preparing accounts and trade profit computations for unincorporated businesses
- Processing payroll for clients
- Providing regular management reports and forecasts to clients using innovative technology
- Interpreting financial statements and discussing them with clients
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client data with relevant authorities
- Dealing with routine correspondence with HMRC on behalf of clients
The ideal candidate for the role of Senior Accountant
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar, client-facing role in practice
- Qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience (QBE)
- Experience of using Xero would be preferable but not essential
