Reed Accountancy, Norwich are working with a family run business based to the South of Norwich to recruit a permanent, Senior Accounts Assistant. The Senior Accounts Assistant role is full time, Monday-Friday and will be office based with parking available on site. Working within the finance team, the Accounts Assistant role is to assist with the day to day running of the purchase ledger and sales ledger as well as reconciliations. This requires an enthusiastic person with a strong desire to develop their own professional knowledge, and who possesses the ability to build good working relationships with people both within the business and with external suppliers and customers.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accounts Assistant role include:
- Accurate input of supplier invoices on the purchase ledger;
- Matching of goods received to goods invoiced
- Allocating Direct Debit and payments against invoices on purchase ledger accounts;
- Prompt investigating and resolving pricing and quantity queries with purchase invoices, which involves communicating clearly with suppliers and colleagues
- Reconciling purchase ledger accounts with supplier statements.
- The Accounts Assistant will communicate with customers to ensure that issues are identified and invoices are paid as they fall due;
- Working with the sales team to resolve issues promptly;
- Making notes to maintain a record of debt collection activity;
- Allocating receipts to invoices on customer accounts on the ledger;
- Sorting and circulating invoices and statements to customers;
- Producing reports to show the status of the aged debt and creating and maintaining a record of manual invoices.
