Hachette UK Distribution (HUKD) is the leading book distribution company in the UK, providing comprehensive distribution services and exceptional customer service, to our client publishers and their customers.

This is an exciting time in our history, as following the opening of the Hely Hutchinson Centre (HHC) in 2018, a state-of-the-art distribution centre, we are now on a journey to double the size of our business. HUKD provides comprehensive distribution services to 30 publishers, many of which are third party clients from outside the Hachette UK group. Hachette UK Distribution is a part of Hachette UK and Hachette Livre, one of the world's largest publishers.

The Role:

This role is responsible for managing our claims and chargeback processes and reporting for trading with Amazon on behalf of our group and client publishers. The role currently has one member of staff reporting into it but with growth forecast for our business we expect the team to grow and it will be the responsibility of this role to identify such growth requirements.

The role will require a strong analytical approach, with focus areas such as financial reconciliation, reporting, systems interrogation and development, implementation of automation and optimising ways of working to maximise productivity and business value.

Data extraction, report creation & process development plays a very important aspect within this role.

The role will require a strong working relationship with Hachette UK internal stakeholders and our publishing clients to whom they will be providing timely and accurate reporting of monthly claims information, write backs and informing of any new developments within Amazon operations around new claim types, change in processes, client exposure and risks.

The successful candidate should have a can-do attitude with good communication skills, both written and verbal. The role requires a high degree of analytical skills, understanding of complex situations and excellent understanding of systems and processes. Candidates are expected to have excellent computer skills, specifically around data manipulation and dealing with large quantities of data.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stakeholder Management

  • Develop efficient processes within the team in dealing with all aspects of Amazon.
  • Effective client communication regarding Amazon claims reporting and client financial exposure.
  • Work with other Hachette UK stakeholders and the Hachette Amazon Account Manager in identifying and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Participate in project teams and new client on-boarding when required.
  • Seek to understand and explain changes in Amazon Ways of Working to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop reporting of KPI metrics regarding status of claims for sharing with stakeholders.
  • Providing accurate and timely information to internal Hachette stakeholders.

Process Management

  • Undertake root cause analysis work and lead change programmes to minimise future Amazon claims.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across functions and teams, delivering strong results through influence.
  • Ensure necessary processes at running Amazon are undertaken by the team in a timely manner.
  • Identify processes and systems improvement which could deliver efficiencies within the team and to deliver increased service to our publisher clients. Propose solutions to deliver these improvements.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Excel, to include power queries and data manipulation of large data sets.
  • Advanced Computer literacy with an excellent understanding of all systems used.

Employee Management

  • Line management of one member of staff.
  • Undertaking of regular 1-2-1's, performance reviews and goal setting.
  • Coach, motivate and mentor direct reports and work with management team to create an environment of career progression and development, supported by a strong programme of learning development so that people are able to achieve their full potential.
  • Lead and facilitate change and continuous improvement.
  • Empower team members to constantly review ways of working and suggest/develop ideas that improve processes and service to publishers.
  • Work with the wider management teams to promote and maintain a high performing culture.
  • Champion in demonstrating the company behaviours and strategic four pillars.
