The Role
HENI is growing rapidly and we have a new role for an experienced Art Technician to join our busy warehouse. You will work as part of a team to finish high-value artworks, prepare them for shipping, and install works in a variety of private and public locations.
This is a full-time permanent role, based in South East London. The standard hours will be 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday (some flexibility required).
Responsibilities include:
- Making and packing of artworks into crates, t-frames, and soft wrapped.
- Working in gallery settings, helping to prepare for shows and exhibitions.
- Installing and handling both 2-D and 3-D artworks.
- Finishing artworks so they are ready to ship.
- Using a variety of hand tools and some machinery (such as table saw, router, and sanders).
- Handling all artwork and installations carefully and with due consideration.
- Managing stock, completing documentation and accurately reporting as appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in handling and installing artworks to a professional standard (such as commercial experience in a gallery, fine art institution, or an art logistics company).
- Comfortable working in a warehouse setting.
- Forklift and access equipment licenses preferred but training is available.
- Full UK driving license preferred.
- Experience in slinging artworks.
- Display a high level of discretion and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and proactive attitude in problem-solving.
