Alleyn's School are seeking to appoint an Art Technician to join the enthusiastic and professional support team.
The successful candidate will provide support to teachers and students in all areas of Art and Design. The Art Technician role is a varied one where the role holder oversees the day-to-day continuity and smooth running of the Art department; including the varied roles of admin, organisation, ordering and stocking as well as providing technical support. The job involves working closely with the line manager, the Head of Department, and the other four Art teachers, as well as everyday contact with art students.
The department teaches drawing and painting, printmaking, photographic dark room processes, digital photography and film, carpentry, ceramics, other sculptural processes and textiles. The aim is to appoint someone who can make a genuine and significant contribution to the work of our Art Department, and the role holder will have good carpentry skills and a working knowledge of Fine Art materials and processes.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic, technically skilled candidates (a degree in an Art or Design related subject, or qualification through experience is desirable) with a proven track record of competence in a technical role, preferably within an education setting.
Applicants will have good carpentry skills and a working knowledge of Fine Art materials and processes. The job is available on a full-time or part-time basis (4 or 5 days a week), term time only, plus 10 days. The core hours are based on 28-35 hours per week
The salary will be from £13.89 per hour based on skills and experience.
