Senior Assistant Accountant - Construction

Position: Assistant Accountant

Salary: £45-55k (DOE)

Hybrid: Office based Monday to Thursday

WFH - Fridays

Report to: Head of Finance

The company is a fast growing, highly regarded Design & Build construction company , specialising in creating design led functional and inspiring spaces people love to work in.

As part of their recent growth they are currently looking to expand their finance team with an experienced Senior Accounts Assistant.

The ideal candidate will have strong construction industry skills, and able to work independently and confidently within the department.

They are currently in the process of implementing a new commercial/financial software to the business - Moving from XERO to COINS, experience of said system will be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
• Assist in the managing the month-end process
• Cost Reporting and CVR Analysis
• Assist in the preparation of VAT returns for review and Submission
• Preparing and Filing CIS returns to HMRC
• Supervision of the processing of sales invoices.
• Management of employee expenses and timesheets
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements
• Providing guidance to the Pre Construction and Delivery Teams
• Provide general administrative support to the finance department

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Strong Subcontractor/CIS experience
• Fair knowledge of the Construction Act 2015 (in relation to payments).
• Understanding of the Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) processes and advantage
• Experience in COINS software an advantage
• Experience in month-end procedures and accounting transactions.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
