The Data Office team at T. Rowe Price is playing a key role in helping build the firm’s next generation platform, working together with business partners to create client experiences that are changing the way people invest. You will be a Senior Business Analyst joining the new Analytics and Data Platform team in the Data Office, responsible for delivering a unified and simplified industry classifications service based on existing usage security usage in the current infrastructure and industry standards. You will work closely with investments professionals, engineers, application users and data experts across multiple locations, and provide oversight and visibility into the engineering team’s output.
You will be responsible for:
- Working with key stakeholders across functions in London and Baltimore to document a detailed view of T. Rowe Price’s existing industry classifications ecosystem informed by existing use cases
- Working with front-office investors as well as middle-office specialists to design a new data product supporting T. Rowe Price’s Security Reference needs around industry classifications across the full investments lifecycle.
- Working closely with engineers and data specialists to implement the new model and transition existing consumers to the new model
- Working with data governance and operations specialists to identify build out data management capabilities supporting those functions
Required skills and expertise:
- Extensive experience working as a Business Analyst in the asset management industry with a strong grasp of the investment lifecycle as well as a deep understanding of Security Reference Data usage throughout.
- Experience working at scale with a Security Master product
- Strong understanding of the software delivery lifecycle and a proven track record of working with engineers to deliver complex end-to-end products
- Experience dealing with large and complex datasets and using common data manipulation and scripting tools to extract data and build out reconciliation reporting.
- Comfortable building complex SQL queries
- Strong understanding of Scrum delivery methodology
Preferred experience/skills
- A background in engineering
- Experience with data governance at scale
- Understanding of modern data infrastructures in financial services organizations
