Job description The Policy Institute at King’s College London works to solve society’s challenges with evidence and expertise. We combine the rigour of academia with the agility of a consultancy and the connectedness of a think tank. Our research and teaching draws on many disciplines and methods, making use of the skills, expertise and resources of not only the institute, but the university and its wider network too. The Policy Institute are rapidly expanding our Executive Education portfolio in both bespoke courses and open enrolment courses. We are seeking a Senior Business Operations Officer (SBOO) – Executive Education, to provide operational and administrative support. The SBOO will proactively deliver our operations and the programme experience to ensure a consistent, high-quality, professional experience for everyone engaging with Policy Institute Executive Education. You will be responsible for delivering the processes that underpin our programmes so that participants, Course Convenors, and contributors have a positive and rewarding interaction from a streamlined provision of administrative support. As Executive Education develops at the Policy Institute, the portfolio of courses and activities will develop in the coming years, the SBOO will have a key role in supporting this expanding portfolio and helping to define and lead on specific areas or projects within this. The SBOO provides essential administrative support to all stakeholders involved in Executive Education within the Policy Institute. Working in a fast-paced environment, the role includes taking responsibility to resolve complex queries and issues, supporting activities such as timetabling and the production of handbooks, using databases and Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate course participant data on progress and achievement, and delivering a high-quality service across the participant lifecycle. Working with colleagues to plan and coordinate a varied set of activities, you will have opportunities to further develop your knowledge of regulations and process and be part of professional networks promoting best practice. As part of the King’s community, you’ll work alongside inspiring academic staff, administrators, students and external stakeholders. The post holder will work alongside a small team of professional services staff (across our Business and Education functions) ensuring activities are carried out efficiently and that administration of all matters relating to Executive Education support across the Policy Institute is carried out to a high-level of accuracy and consistent standard. This is a collaborative role where you will work with colleagues within the Policy Institute, wider central university teams and course participants to build and streamline the administrative support to deliver our Executive Education programmes. The role will work particularly closely with the Institute Business Manager, Education Manager, Director of Education, and course convenors in the Policy Institute. You will be adept at working across several strands of work and will be able to operationalise ideas to ensure the smooth running of administrative activity to support Executive Education delivery. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual, with a passion for coordinating a high-quality administrative support to ensure Executive Education participants receive a great learning experience. This post will be offered on an indefinite contract. This is a full-time post.
