Job Title: Senior Business Support Officer

Main Purpose of the Job:
- Provide efficient and effective administrative and clerical support.
- Deliver a range of routine and complex administrative tasks.
- Maintain and develop data and information systems.
- Guide and support Business Support Officers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentor and support Business Support Officers.
- Manage post, filing, and document distribution.
- Organize events, training courses, meetings, and case conferences.
- Take accurate minutes at meetings.
- Support budget monitoring and contract registers.
- Handle ICT and mobile phone requests.
- Perform troubleshooting for office systems and equipment.
- Maintain Health & Safety and business continuity processes.
- Coordinate recruitment and training for new staff.
- Manage customer inquiries and provide information on services.
- Handle data collection, employee performance, and FOI requests.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Knowledge: Understanding of administrative, Business Support, and customer contact processes; knowledge of handling sensitive data and information; understanding of financial procedures and regulations; knowledge of Health & Safety in the workplace.
- Skills: Excellent ICT skills (including spreadsheets, databases, and word processing); proficient user of core business ICT systems (e.g., LCS, EHM, Microsoft packages); excellent verbal and written communication skills; highly developed customer care skills; organizational and time management skills.
- Experience: Providing high-quality administrative services; dealing with the public via face-to-face, phone, and web inquiries; mentoring and training staff; handling confidential issues; working within a busy team; liaising with statutory and non-statutory agencies.
- Aptitude: Ability to implement administrative processes; research and produce management information; work independently and meet tight deadlines; maintain discretion with confidential information.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of core services supported by the Business Support hub.
- Experience working within a pressurized environment, prioritizing workloads.
- Good demonstrable experience in effective public service delivery.
Personal Qualities:
- Responsive and customer-focused.
- Flexible and willing to learn new skills.
- Able to attend evening meetings and work beyond standard hours when required.
Circumstances:
