The Senior CME officer is central to ensuring that the LA is fully compliant with the statutory duties in relation to Children Missing from Education. You will be part of a highly committed and supportive team, playing a central role in the LA education safeguarding strategy.
You will be responsible for leading on the identification and tracking of children who leave Sheffield schools and/or ‘become missing’ from a school roll. You will work alongside schools and other professionals, to perform a range of checks and enquires, using both local and national databases/sources to establish the whereabouts of missing children. You will be responsible for ensuring that our work complies with data sharing and GDPR policies and legislation.
In this role you will also be responsible for line managing the Access and Admissions Monitoring Officer to ensure that high quality performance and monitoring data is maintained, and that quality assurance activities are completed in a timely manner to ensure data integrity and quality.
The post holder will also work alongside the CME Team manager to review and update policies and procedures to ensure that these are complaint with the relevant statutory guidance and established best practice.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
