About the Role
Our client, a leading consultancy in the Highways sector, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team in Manchester. Here the team are involved with some really exciting projects across the Civils sector, with a strong focus on projects in Power, Life Sciences, Nuclear and Defence.
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering a variety of Highway and Civil Engineering projects, contributing to the growth of the Highway project portfolio. You will work alongside a dedicated team of Engineers and Technicians to ensure the delivery of high-quality output. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients will be essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Provide Highway and Civil Engineering design and consultancy services
- Produce design deliverables, site surveys, and construction stage duties
- Liaise with clients, design/construction teams, and project management
- Check calculations and detailed drawings to meet quality and compliance controls
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design team members to deliver efficient solutions
- Ensure compliance with company quality management and best practices
- Manage Engineers, Early Careers, and Technicians on relevant duties
- Review subcontractors/suppliers calculations and drawings for compliance
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience in delivering Civil Engineering projects
- Strong experience in Civil Engineering design, detailing, and specification writing
- Proficient in Microdrainage software for drainage design
- Experience in highway geometry design and Civil 3D
