National ranging £49,700 - £60,000, and London from £53,300 - £ 65,000

The Team

Early and High Growth Oversight (EHGO) is an innovative department that uses proactive engagement and early indicators to reduce and prevent serious harm, set and test higher standards, promote competition and positive change, and support firms.

Early and High Growth Oversight is a multi-sector department, where supervisors can gain exposure to a wide variety of portfolios, including start-ups and those with innovative business models. We currently supervise over 300 firms and are working to realise our ambition to build and roll out automation, which will allow us to supervise every newly authorised solo regulated firm in the first few years of their regulatory journey.

We are recruiting for a Senior Associate who will play a key role in meeting our objectives, as we grow to the number of firms that we monitor and support through our supervisory function. We are also looking for someone who will play a key role in supporting EHGO’s Data Strategy, MI, and dashboard development.

The role is incredibly varied, and we are looking for candidates comfortable with such variety, to use their analysis and judgement to manage through complex and fast-moving situations.

What you will be doing
As a Senior Associate focusing on our Data Strategy, you will play a key role in supporting and working collaboratively with the department in developing our reporting processes, producing analytics tools, and delivering key insights in identifying and monitoring harm.

You will work with a variety of stakeholders to conduct an assessment of our portfolio of firms to identify trends and insights to feed to our key partners in Authorisations and Supervision. You will also be supporting in reporting key management information and creating dashboards to visualise data in a useful way.

You will be using your core skills to help make sure that UK financial markets work well, including:

  • Assessing firms’ business model and strategies and identifying the key risks of harm, problem solving, dealing with complex problems, and finding solutions 
  • Using data to spot trends and provide insight to problems we are looking to address
  • Developing dashboards to visualise information and data
  • Managing a large and varied workload and competing priorities
  • Working collaboratively and building strong relationships with stakeholders across the department and the wider FCA, including specialist supervision areas, Authorisations and Enforcement
  • Communicating information to Senior Management

We support hybrid working which means you will be able to work from home up to 60% of the time over a month, with the remainder of your time in one of our three office locations.

Which skills are required?
Minimum

  • Experience of proactively managing casework and competing priorities to tight deadlines
  • Experience of analysing data and information, making judgements, and presenting key findings
  • Prior experience building rapport and constructive relationships with key contacts, both internally and externally

Essential

  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, as well as being a good team player who demonstrates an inclusive approach and the impact and influence to generate shared goals for the team/Early Oversight function
  • The ability to act on your own initiative, to assess and validate complex data and information, and the ability to succinctly summarise complex data
  • Demonstrate experience of using data and understanding data tools to conduct analysis, spot trends and provide insights and solutions
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to make logical, methodical, and timely decisions including under pressure
  • Prioritisation and organisational skills: ability to manage competing priorities, and a challenging workload at times, in a resource-constrained environment showing tenacity, resilience and flexibility
  • Identify and support key stakeholders, build and maintain constructive relationships, and win the support of key stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn, develop and take on new responsibilities, quickly filling gaps in your understanding and escalating matters when appropriate
