Senior Engineer - Automation Engineer

The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Centre is looking for a Senior Engineer - Automation Engineer with proven technical knowledge and experience who are excited to work in a centre that is a global destination for technology and innovation.

We are recruiting to build our engineering teams in Digital Factory to support the development of innovative and emerging industry-focussed solutions.

As Senior Engineeryou will apply your specialist knowledge and experience of methods and processes, to generate innovative research outputs. You will work collaboratively with your team, industry, technology providers, national technology centres and academia to deliver key projects focused on advanced manufacturing.

This role is aimed at candidates with relevant experience in an industrial or academic research & innovation environment.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:

• Honours degree in computing, engineering, science, or a related discipline with significant relevant industrial experience OR; Minimum HND in a related discipline with extensive recent and relevant industrial experience.

• Demonstrable recent relevant experience and in depth understanding of fundamental engineering concepts in the application of Automation and Robotics technology, with clear experience of using supporting CAD and/or CAM solutions.
• Experience in a range of automation and robotics technologies.
• Demonstrable evidence of working within multifaceted environments delivering to deadlines and within budget.
• Experience of using research/industrial tools and techniques resulting in high quality projects and technical reports.

The post will be appointed for 3 years in the first instance. Fixed term contract posts are available for the stated period in the first instance but in particular circumstances may be renewed or made permanent subject to availability of funding.
