The role
Responsible for project managing and improving the Financial planning cycles, overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts for the group and in-month/quarterly Group estimates. Working closely with wider finance and other business stakeholders to provide commentary of performance and input into quarterly external reporting.
What you will do
- Coach and mentor the Analyst in the team.
- Project manage Group budgeting and planning cycles, setting clear timetables for the business to follow and summarizing information for senior management and Board purposes.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts for the Group, ensuring accuracy and delivering variance analysis for senior management.
- Ownership of in-month and quarterly Group estimates, along with clear communication of drivers to senior management.
- Understanding the commercial drivers of the business and tailoring commentary and reporting to best suit stakeholder needs.
- Support in preparing presentations for Board purposes and provide data and analysis for external reporting purposes.
- Working closely with data teams to ensure accuracy of in-month reporting.
- Working closely with wider finance teams to streamline processes and ensure business finance function supports corporate goals.
Skills and Behaviours:
- Ability to understand drivers of financial performance as well as translate financial information and other data into a format that is easily interpreted by non-finance stakeholders.
- A motivated self-starter with demonstrable ability to produce results and accomplish goals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally, build relationships and embrace change.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable managing upwards as well as downwards.
- Displays excellent attention to detail.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Good knowledge of Finance systems such as Adaptive and Qliksense an advantage
Experience
- Certified ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent, with 2 years of post qualified experience either within FP&A or Finance Business Partnering.
- Interest in sport / online gaming an advantage
