Senior Financial Accountant

Marc Daniels are urgently recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant required to join a well-established UK media company based in Manchester. This role will be joining a large finance team and will suit those looking to take their career to the next level in a company that can offer long term progression and support.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire Record to Report process, including but not limited to journal entries, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for fluctuations in financial performance, highlighting key insights and recommendations to management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data, resolve discrepancies, and streamline reporting processes.
• Support internal and external audit processes, providing documentation and explanations as required.
• Assist in the implementation of accounting software and systems enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards, assessing their impact on the company's financial reporting practices.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned by management, contributing financial expertise and insights as needed.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:
• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Sound knowledge of financial accounting with a focus on Record to Report processes and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
